All living things have DNA. The thing that determines the trait of an organism is simply the sequence of their bases which is made of amino acids. These bases are called Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine and Guanine. OR short for A, T, C and G.
In humans, A only pair with T and C only pairs with G. The sequence determines our trait.
