The two equations for the horizontal translation of parabolas are as follows:

y = (x + h)²  and  y = (x – h)²

The sign will be positive when moving the parabola to the left and negative when moving the parabola to the right. In this case, we are moving the parabola from its original position (y = x²) to the right (b). Therefore, we can substitute the known values and insert a negative sign:

g(x) = (x – b)²

The answer to this problem is D
