We have an equation: 3/?= 1/5

Cross multiply:
1*?= 3*5
⇒ ?= 3*5= 15

Sam would have 15 goldfish. if Bradley has three and that's 1/5 of the amount Sam has then all you need to do is multiply three my five go get 15. Sam has 15 fish.
