To find the equivalent expression of 17x−32x you need to find the Greatest Common Factors of 17x−32x. 

Factors of 17x. Note 17 is a prime number.
1, 17, X  

Factors of 32x
1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, X

Greatest Common Factor of 17x and 32x is x

So now factor out x from 17x - 32x
[tex]\frac{17x - 32x}{x} = 17 - 32 = x(17 - 32)[/tex]
