Someone who oppose United States expansion and involvement in foreign affairs is known as an isolationist. There are a number of reasons as to why someone would feel this way. Some isolationists believe the United States should concentrate on domestic affairs and improve the U.S before worrying about other places. Others believe that the U.S. does more harm than good when it comes to foreign affairs. The War in Afghanistan is a recent example of this.
