The turning point in the life of Douglas came when he had physical combat with Covey. In the fight, Covey gave up which made Douglas realize his potentiality. Covey after this fight, never touched Douglas. This was the turning point in his life as a slave. He was able to revive his self-confidence, and he gained inspiration which helped him in his struggle to gain freedom.
