Since 20 is a whole number it is rational.
But what is we had the number 1.5
1.5 can be expressed as [tex] \frac{3}{2} [/tex] that is 1.5 as a ratio.
Now what is we had pi (3.14159...)[tex] \frac{?}{?} [/tex] Pi is irrational because there is no ratio for it.
A Rational Number can be written as a Ratio of two integers (ie a simple fraction).
