Well, I'm not sure exactly what you're studying in school, so I'm not sure if my answer can be applied. You could say that the ameba reproduces asexually, so the ameba offspring will be an exact copy. The birds reproduce sexually, so the offspring will have have a mix of the parent's genes. I'm not sure if this is the best answer for though!
