In other words:

KE = Ug
(1/2)mv^2 = mgh

The “m” variable cancels out on either side:

(1/2)v^2 = gh

(1/2)(5)^2 = (9.8)h

h = 1.28 m

Therefore, since Ug = mgh:

(0.058)(9.8)(1.28) = 0.72 J
