the answer is s=4

first step is to solve for d

d+s>-3

subtract s from both sides

d+s-s>-3-s
d>-3-s

now we have two inequalities:

d>-3-s and d>-7

since the left sides (d) are equal the right sides must be equal as well

now solve for s

-7=-3-s
s=-3-7
s=4
