Exercise 1

A) RT= R1 + R2
RT= 3 + 2
RT= 5 ohms

B) V=IR
2.5v=I5
2.5v/5= I5/5
I=0.5A

Exercise 2
V=IR
3=0.5R
3/0.5=0.5/0.5R
R= 6
From this we know that the total resistance is 6. From the equation we know that r1 is 1. So:

RT = R1+R2
6=1r2
6-1=r2
R2=5 ohms
