You have to add 3 to both sides to get 2x= 9. Then divide 2 by both sides and x would equal 9/2. U can put tht into a decimal if u want though
Add 3 to both sides 

[tex]2x=6+3 [/tex] 

Simplify 6+3 to 9 

[tex]2x=9[/tex] 

Divide both sides by 2

[tex]x=9/2[/tex]
