if it's intersect, then :  

4x-10 = -4x+8

-10-8 = -4x-4x

 -18  = -8x

 -18/-8 = x

   18/8 = x

   9*2 /4*2 = X

   9/4 = X

So X is  9/4   then y  is  :   4( 9/4) -10 =  9-10 = -1  

Lines intercept at   (  9/4 ; -1)
