Pure water is supposed to have a pH very close to 7,solutions with a ph of less than 7 are acidic and solutions with a ph greater than 7 are basic ,ph can have an effect on the growth of growing organisms such as brine shrimp, eggs can last years on dry land but when added to water they hatch within 12hrs.
Hope this helps!
