6x² - x - 2 = 0

⇒ 6x² - 4x + 3x - 2 = 0

⇒ 2x(3x - 2) +1(3x - 2) = 0

⇒ (2x+1)(3x - 2) = 0

so either (3x - 2) = 0 or (2x+1) = 0

x = 2/3 or -1/2 ANSWER
