What is the weight of a text book whose mass is 2.4 kg measured on the moon? The gravitational acceleration on the moon is approximately 1/6 that on the earth.

Answer:

2.4 kg

1 kg = 10N

2.4 kg = ?

2.4 kg = 24N

On the moon 1/6th

1/6 * 24 = 4N

therefore weight of the textbook on the moon would be 4N
