Equity, Karl Marx's whole point of socialism is the equality. He wanted the workers to be  equal with the company owners. Efficiency and economic growth didn't occur much as socialist countries in the 1900s had very lackluster economies. That was one of the primary reason for the collaspe of the U.S.S.R
