What is the difference between a head of state and a chief executive?

A head of state is the leader of a country such as the President of the United States. A chief executive is a term that is used for the heads of a company such as the chief executive officer of Exxon Mobil or Apple.

Simply head of a state is: The leader of public to representative of country such as president and monarch.
While chief executive is: Officer administrator in charge of managing a for profit or non profit organization
